Urgent Problems during Surgery Hours

The doctor on call sees patients (if an emergency) that attend or telephone for an urgent appointment for the day after 10.30am.

Emergency problems go through a triage process first, therefore patients are placed on a list and the doctor calls them and then arranges whatever action necessary.

If you visit or call before 10.30am and all routine appointments are taken and your problem is medically urgent for the day, then you will be booked in by the receptionist on a GP's list  (this can be any doctor) and the appointment will be for one problem and for 5 minutes only.

when the Surgery is Closed:

Getting medical assistance when your surgery is closed

Out of hours services are available when the practice is closed (our opening times can be found here).

What to do when Your Surgery is closed:

If you need the emergency service out of hours, ring the surgery number 01792 863103 and you will be given the phone number of the out-of-hours doctor.

A trained call handler will answer your call, and a doctor will assess what you should do. You may be asked to visit a hospital (transport may be provided if you need help to get there) or the doctor may visit you at home.

Neath Port Talbot Local Health Board is responsible for commissioning our out-of-hours service.
